Federal Grant Proposal Writing Workshop

Virtual Online Program

Next Cohort Start Date: November 18, 2024

The NIH and Academic Research Federal Grant Proposal Writing course is a comprehensive training program that supplies researchers with the tools to write persuasive, effective grant proposals. Through a combination of expert lectures, demonstration and information  videos, discussions, and an array of real-world examples, the program consists of over 50 hours of intensive acclimation to the academic research funding process. The format of the program follows our full-week onsite seminar but can be completed at attendees’ own pace on the award-winning Thinkific platform. Attendees never lose access to the course content or materials and instructor support never expires.

The course covers the entire NIH funding process before moving onto the entire application. On the day of launch, students will be introduced to the Thinkific learning program and the individual modules. This will be followed by a lecture on writing the Specific Aims page. Every core rubric of the program is introduced in this critical topic because the Specific Aims page is the story the reviewer will be given about the proposed project. The Specific Aims page is where many applications fall flat. It is also where many applications find a supporter in a reviewer who advocates on behalf of the research project at critical decision-making events.

Professional Grant Proposal Writing Workshop

Virtual Online Program

Next Cohort Start Date: December 16, 2024

The Professional Grant Proposal Writing Workshop, like our in-person workshops, is an intensive and detailed introduction to the process, structure, and skill of professional proposal writing. This course is characterized by its ability to act as a thorough overview, introduction, and refresher at the same time.

Through the completion of interactive exercises, asynchronous lectures and discussions, question and answer sessions, and virtual instructor feedback, participants will learn the entire proposal writing process. Students will complete the course with a solid understanding of not only the ideal proposal structure, but a holistic understanding of the essential factors, which determine whether or not a program gets funded. Through the completion of interactive exercises and activities, participants will complement expert lectures by putting proven techniques into practice. This course is designed for both the beginner looking for a thorough introduction and the intermediate looking for a refresher course that will strengthen their grant acquisition skills. This class, simply put, is designed to get results by creating professional grant proposal writers.

This course will be identical in content coverage to our award winning in-person workshops, but will follow a module format that will allow students to both follow the program live on the day of launch, and complete the program at their own pace, anytime thereafter.
